As part of our sustained efforts to establish lasting peace and stability in the region, we hosted the third round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We extend our sincere appreciation to both parties for the confidence they have placed in President Erdo\u011fan and T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During deliberations, the parties agreed on the implementation of additional measures concerning the exchange of prisoners of war and fallen soldiers, as well as the reciprocal repatriation of civilians and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An understanding was reached for the mutual exchange of a new group of prisoners of war, comprising no fewer than 1,200 individuals from each side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delegations also evaluated possible steps to intensify technical consultations on a ceasefire and to align positions more closely. Moreover, the parties agreed to explore the idea of establishment of dedicated working groups in the political, humanitarian, and military domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The discussions, taken as a whole, reflected a constructive and result-oriented trajectory, which is a welcome development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Negotiation process requires patience. Each incremental achievement brings the parties closer to peace. Today\u2019s progress represents a further step toward the consolidation of shared will for a resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The international interest in and support for the talks convened in Istanbul under T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s facilitation underscores the global yearning for peace and a return to diplomacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the outbreak of war, T\u00fcrkiye has remained committed to pursuing a just and sustainable resolution. We will continue to actively support all efforts aimed at securing a permanent peace between Russia and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
