It is very unfortunate to see the High Representative / Vice President of the @EU_Commission KAJA KALLAS, referring to a country that illegally occupies territory of an 
EU Member state (Cyprus) as “a partner of strategic importance.”
As a result of the illegal Turkish military occupation, 162,000 Greek-Cypriots fled their homes & became refugees in their own country.
Yet, unlike Ukraine, the illegal Turkish aggression in Cyprus was allowed to go unchecked.
It is equally unfortunate to see @kajakallas discussing “security and stability” in the region with the country
that has invaded, threatened with war and illegally claims territory from 5 of its 8 neighboring countries¹
Türkiye is a partner of strategic importance.
Strengthening our relations will remain high on my agenda.
I sat down with @HakanFidan to discuss security and stability in the region.
I emphasised the need to work closer together on helping Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
