At the Burns Auditorium on June 27, 2024 he says the following, “We’re defending and promoting LGBTQI+ rights around the world, and we’re doing it in several key ways. First, we’re applying diplomatic pressure to urge governments to reverse discriminatory laws and practices.” He then specifically mentions Greece.
Timeline of Events:
2021 – the U.S. state department starts an initiative to promote LGBT across the world especially against conservative countries using taxpayer dollars such as USAID.
January 2024 – Blinken goes to Greece to meet with the Greek Prime Minister where he pressures him to pass the bill legalizing same sex marriage.
February 15, 2024 – Greece legalizes same sex marriage despite the overwhelming majority of Greeks opposing it. March 1, 2024 – the Greek Orthodox Church excommunicates all the MP’s who voted to pass the bill and unanimously declared their opposition to the bill.
