Last month, I spoke with the former CIA Director for Russia Analysis (George Beebe) about the US shift to a multipolar world. This requires improving relations with Russia and pivoting away from Europe and toward Asia:
– This is more relevant now as the US just announced it will draw down its presence in Europe. Instead of recognising and adjusting to a changing world, the Europeans scream “Russian propaganda” and retreat into dangerous wishful thinking as their relevance diminishes
George Beebe is director of Grand Strategy at the Quincy Institute. Beebe was the former director of the CIA’s Russia analysis and a staff advisor on Russia matters to Vice President Cheney.
