On Navy Day, President Vladimir Putin addressed military personnel via video link to oversee and assess the large-scale operational exercise “July Storm,” involving over 150 ships, 120 aircraft, and more than 15,000 servicemen.
The drills, conducted simultaneously in the Pacific, Arctic, Caspian, Baltic, and Black Sea regions, aim to test the Russian Navy’s combat readiness and response capabilities against sea-based threats.
Emphasizing the importance of national security and the Navy’s strategic role, Putin announced the reorganization of five marine brigades into divisions, two of which will be completed this year, significantly enhancing the fleet’s strike power.
